Danvers, also known as Kara Zor-El and Supergirl, is the Man of Steel's cousin from Krypton. Kara was sent to Earth as an infant by her parents, just before Krypton was destroyed, to protect her from the explosion. Supergirl, however, grew up in a separate dimension.
